11 Ways To Give Your Business A Spring Clean

Today is the Spring Equinox and so why not give your business a spring clean to prepare you for the rest of the year.

  1. The legal stuff – make sure you have all of the necessary contracts in place for everyone involved in your business whether it is a non-disclosure agreement or it is terms for selling online – check out the ‘Oven-Ready Document Shop’!
  2. Keep looking at the wider picture – make sure you know what is happening regarding micro and macro-economic factors for your business sector. What is the demand for goods and services? What are the current exchange rates, interest rates etc.? Will Brexit have an impact?
  3. Check available resources and infrastructure – review equipment, staff, storage, administration, capacity, transport, logistics, IT, communication
  4. Look at efficiencies – how can you do things better? Faster? Cheaper? But without compromising on quality
  5. Review insurance policies – have you got the best deal for you and your business?
  6. Investigate alternative suppliers – Is there a supplier offering a better deal than your current supplier? Do you have a back-up supplier for if your current one suddenly falls through?
  7. Scrutinise financials – it is almost the end of the financial year (5th April 2019), are your finances in order? Are you prepared for the new ‘Making Tax Digital’ scheme if it applies to you? Are you investing more than you have available?
  8. Scan competitors – make sure you know what your competitors are doing
  9. Consider targeting new markets and creating new products – this will help you to expand your business and keep what you offer fresh and up to date.
  10. Preserve your current customer base – don’t forget about existing customers! What can you do to keep them loyal to your business? It might be as simple as starting a monthly newsletter or a social media account for your business.
  11. Don’t neglect marketing – marketing is so important! Are you using the right platforms for your target audience, should you be using Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn or a combination? How frequently are you advertising your products? Have you been networking recently? What promotional materials are you using and are they effective? Do they need updating?
